The story of "Kobka"

A new trading house built on trust β€” from Northeast Thailand to the world

Home β€Ί About
Prologue

An Old Thai Word β€” "Khob-Ka" (ΰΈ„ΰΈšΰΈ„ΰΉ‰ΰΈ²)

It means trade between people who know each other β€” trade bound by spoken word, by trust, and by relationships passed from one generation to the next.

In an age where international trade is measured by speed, we chose this name because we believe what makes trade last is not the lowest price β€” but the most trusted partner.

Khob-Ka β€” the Thai word that means trading with people you trust

Chapter One Β· Founded at Khamthalesoo

Kobka Co., Ltd. was founded in 2026 in Khamthalesoo Sub-district, Nakhon Ratchasima Province (Korat) β€” on a 4-rai (~6,400 mΒ²) plot facing Highway 2068, directly across from the District Office.

This route has carried goods from Northeastern Thailand to Bangkok and onward to Laem Chabang Port for over a century β€” the road that Sino-Thai merchant families built their fortunes on, generation by generation.

We built Kobka as a modern trading house with old-house principles β€” relationships first, consistent quality, on-time delivery, every time.

But what's new: our market is the world β€” our customers are in China, Japan, USA, and across Southeast Asia.

Chapter Two Β· Three Co-Founders

Sin Β· Kratib Β· Somsom β€” three perspectives that pooled their resources to bridge Thai goods to the world

Sin, Kratib, Somsom β€” Co-Founders of Kobka Co., Ltd.
Sin Β· Kratib Β· Somsom β€” Co-Founders of Kobka Co., Ltd.

Kobka didn't begin as a business plan in a meeting room. It began as a conversation among three co-founders over a dinner table one evening β€” Sin Β· Kratib Β· Somsom.

The three came from different career paths β€” one in international business development, one in branding and communications, one growing up in an Isan farming family. That difference is exactly why they decided to pool their resources and co-found Kobka β€” believing three different perspectives, when combined, complete the picture.

Thai goods sit on shelves in Tokyo, Shanghai, and San Francisco β€” at prices many times higher than the farm gate, the field, the workshop. Yet the farmers and small producers at the source rarely see any share of that added value.

The questions that followed were the same:

"Thai goods are this good β€” why don't they reach the destination shelf under Thai names?"

"Why must Thai farmers always be the last to benefit from what they grew?"

These questions became the beginning of Kobka.

What We Stand For

Four Uncompromising Principles

Because we come from families that believed in the spoken word β€” we don't trade with exceptions.

1

Fair Pricing at the Source

Farmers, artisans, and community producers must earn enough to live and grow β€” not the lowest price for the middlemen's profit.

2

International Quality Standards

Every lot is inspected and selected to meet the destination country's standards before any container leaves Korat.

3

Transparent Supply Chain

End customers know where every item came from β€” which farm, which province, who made it.

4

Grow Together

When Kobka grows, the producers we trade with must grow with us. That's the true meaning of khob-ka.

Three Co-Founders

Three Perspectives That Connect

Different specialties, one shared intention β€” to put Thai goods on the world stage under Thai names.

Sin β€” Engineer, multi-business entrepreneur, visionary for Thai exports
Co-Founder

Sin

Engineer Β· Multi-business entrepreneur Β· Visionary for Thai exports

An engineer by training who has built and managed multiple businesses across technology, manufacturing, and distribution β€” gaining a deep understanding of the operational backbone of Thai businesses.

His personal dream is to see Thai products grow on the world stage β€” not just shipped abroad as commodities, but elevated and given a stronger identity so they're remembered under genuine Thai names in the markets they reach.

"Thailand already has good products. What's missing is someone who can combine engineering and business knowledge to take them further."
Somsom β€” From Ratchaburi, mushroom farm family, restaurant background
Co-Founder

Somsom

From Ratchaburi Β· Mushroom farm family Β· Restaurant background

Born and raised in Ratchaburi, in a family that has run a mushroom farm and a restaurant since her childhood β€” making her familiar with the full cycle of raw material from cultivation to dining table.

She knows what small producers face in each season, the buying prices that fluctuate at the hands of middlemen, and the feeling of having quality goods sold below their fair value β€” and that feeling is exactly what brought her to Kobka.

"Growing up around mushroom farms and a kitchen, I know how many hands a good plate has to pass through. We want the people at the source to get a fairer share."
Kratib β€” From Chiang Mai, lived overseas, spotted export opportunities
Co-Founder

Kratib

Chiang Mai native Β· Lived overseas Β· Spotted export opportunities

A Chiang Mai native who has lived and worked abroad for many years β€” through study, work, and direct involvement with consumer communities in markets across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Years on the destination side gave him clarity on what overseas customers look for, what makes them buy, and most importantly β€” the real channels that can place Thai goods on the shelves they belong on.

"Living abroad long enough showed me one thing β€” the Thai goods people there are searching for still don't reach them, even though we have it all."
A Small Part of Thailand's Economy

We Don't Aim to Change Everything

We don't aim to change Thailand's entire international trade system.
But if every container leaving our Korat warehouse means:

  • βœ“ One more farming family that earns a fair price
  • βœ“ One more community workshop with steady orders
  • βœ“ One more Thai product on a global shelf, under a Thai name

Then we believe that's the small part we can be for Thailand's economy.
And if enough people do these small things, it becomes something big in the end.
